چکیده
Health professionals involved in invasive procedures such as central venous catheter placement should have a thorough knowledge of thoracic vascular anatomy. Various developmental anomalies the large intra-thoracic veins can be incidentally discovered normal adults. Amongst these congenital is duplication superior vena cava (SVC), which results from failure left cardinal vein to obliterate. Awareness about this anomaly and its variations important help overcome challenges procedures, well avoid complications. In article, we present case diagnosed double-SVC an adult polytrauma patient after line insertion Trauma Intensive care Unit.

Persistent left superior vena cava diagnosed during haemodialysis catheter placement - a case report.
The vascular access preparation for this patient was poor due to poor accessibility to surgical service, and his peripheral veins were not good for arterio-venous fistula. He was initiated on haemodialysis with a right sided internal jugular catheter (IJC). The right IJC was removed due to infection. There was previously a documented attempt to insert a left sided IJC in September 2010, however...

Superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome is not an uncommon occurrence in patients with malignancy and it is often described as a medical emergency. In majority of the cases, SVC syndrome occurs due to mechanical obstruction of the SVC by extraluminal compression with primary intrathoracic malignancies. However, intraluminal obstruction due to thrombosis can also produce symptoms and signs of SVC synd...

We reported the case of a 78-year old woman with the inadvertent superior vena cava injury resulting from hemodialysis catheter placement. The catheter was placed through the left internal jugular vein. Hemodynamics were stable. The initial chest film illustrated an extraluminal catheter and mediastinal widening. The patient did not have hemothorax. Computed tomography venography also confirmed...

On presentation, he demonstrated symptoms compatible with superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome, including extreme dyspnea, face and neck cyanosis and facial swelling. A chest tube was inserted and drained large amounts of sanguineous fluid. An exploratory thoracotomy revealed an extensive tumour encasing the SVC and the hilum. Bi...
